Several terminals can be linked to each other so that sales started on one terminal can be added to and finalised on another.
For example, in hospitality, drinks ordered in the bar could be transferred to a table where food sales are added and the bill could be finalised in the bar if the customer went back for after dinner drinks.
An example in retailing could be: A sale is in process at one counter and the customer enquires about a product on another counter. The sales assistant could store the sale, take the customer to the other counter, pick up the sale on another terminal, register the extra purchase and finalise the sale.
