Many
Geller terminals have integrated card swipe. This is used for
in-house accounts, discount and loyalty schemes. Magnetic swipe cards
can also be used as staff log on keys and allow different levels of
access according to staff authority levels.
Cards can used for in-house accounts where payment can be either ‘on account’ or on a pre-paid basis.
Swiping magnetic cards can give different levels of discount according to the items purchased and/or the status of the card. For example a ‘Gold Card’ could allow more discount than a ‘Silver Card’.
Magnetic swipe cards should not be confused with Chip n PIN which is described under Integrated EFT.
