Remote screens can be low-cost, 2-line alphanumeric displays or flat screens of various sizes so that the entire sale is visible. The latter can include advertising between sales.
In retailing, 2-line screens are often mounted on poles that face the customer - for example at checkouts.
Flat screens are becoming popular in retailing as, while the customer is watching his purchases being registered, advertisements or in-store offers can be displayed at the same time.
