Introducing the All new AL-7400

The non-vented housing has been designed to withstand liquid ingress in hospitality locations. The high quality ELO touch 5 wire touch screen is designed to work reliably in harsh environments.

The modern appearance is enhanced by the use of a clever cable management system which conceals the wiring between the terminals and peripherals. The new Intel Atom dual core D510 processor with L2 cache memory is fast and powerful; the low power consumption saves energy and permits silent fanless operation.

There is excellent connectivity with 5 x serial, 5 x USB and 2 x Giga LAN ports. There is even a 24 volt DC out supply so that you can power the local printer directly from the terminal.

Long life, reliability, and ongoing low cost maintenance were part of the design concept for the AL7400. Our years of experience with PC based products of all makes has shown that the two items which are most likely to need replacing over a period of time are the hard drive and the power supply. On the AL7400 they are both end user exchangeable.

Additionally there is the option of SSD (solid state drive) for extended service life; solid state drives are designed to have a service life in excess of 50 years.

A two line customer display is integrated into the rear side of the touch screen; a free standing pole display is also available. The Dallas lock is mounted on the front of the base assembly for fast secure one touch sign in, a separate card reader is also available as an option. The advantage of separating the card reader and Dallas lock is that you only have to buy what you need. Fingerprint readers and RFID readers are also available.

The ‘All in the top’ design means that the base unit can be replaced by a pole or a wall bracket according to the individual requirements at the point of sale. If required the AL7400 can have a 12.1” or 15” rear screen as a customer facing display screen.

The Soiree Restaurant and Lounge Bar opt for AX-3000

The Soiree Restaurant and Lounge Bar recently chose Global 15, a long established Geller dealer to install the Uniwell AX-3000 system into their new club in Staines.


The requirement was for six terminals in a bar and restaurant. The terminals were to be linked to each other and to four Ethernet printers for Bar/kitchen and Bill printing. Global 15 used the Geller training facilities in Greenford to set the system up and pre-load the customer’s data prior to delivery.


The system was installed on a Friday in a brand new club with untrained staff. The install was quick and easy and the staff were able to use the intuitive system with no problems
at all.


One month on the systems are running perfectly and The Soiree team are happy customers - testament to the strength, usability and reliability of the Uniwell AX-3000.

Following the recent announcement that Uniwell Systems UK had been placed into administration, Geller Business Machines UK can confirm that they have acquired the assets of the Uniwell business. Geller have secured ongoing UK distribution for Uniwell products by signing an exclusive distribution agreement with Uniwell Corporation Japan.

Under the new agreement, the Uniwell product range will continue with Uniwell branding but will now operate under the Geller Business Machines trading name. Together with system sales, Geller will also provide services including consultation, installation, training, support and maintenance.

Uniwell products will now benefit from the Geller ethos of combining traditional principles of value and service with innovation and the most reliable technology available for point of sale and back office solutions. Uniwell customers will have the advantage of the financial stability and backing of the Geller business, with the additional benefits of increased dealer activity and incentives, integrated payment card solutions and enhanced software.

Under the terms of the deal Geller have acquired:

  • All tangible assets, including all Uniwell spare parts, enabling Geller to implement a service solution to current and future Uniwell customers;
  • The majority of USD EPOS (Uniwell Software Development Company). USD EPOS develops back office software systems for a number of successful hospitality customers such as Compass Catering, Sodexho Catering, Harry Ramsdens and Luminar Leisure;
  • Uniwell Window’s Based Software, PurePOS. A point of sale software solution aimed at the hospitality and general retail sectors and set to bring new innovations and efficiencies to point of sale operations;
  • Exclusive distribution rights of Uniwell products produced by Uniwell Corporation for the territory of UK and Ireland.


Geller Business Machines, with its vast experience of selling EPOS solutions and software in the UK, will ensure the continued success of the Uniwell product range and brand. Communications with dealers will remain a top priority.

Geller upgrades its touch screen warranty

Geller Business Machines announce that with effect from 1st October, their PC-based FEC touch screen EPOS systems will carry a free of charge one year on-site warranty. This is additional to a further 2 years return to base free of charge warranty.

Geller has distributed FEC touch screen products for twelve years and many thousands are in use in the UK. Norman Geller, managing director, said “Based on our experience, we are more than pleased to demonstrate our confidence in the long life, reliability and quality of these products by providing this upgraded free of charge warranty”.

For an additional cost, the on-site warranty can be increased to 3 years.

Geller set to expand into integrated EPoS payment systems

 

 

LONDON, 12 JULY 2010:  Consolis Systems Limited - a leading retail management software and services company - today announced that it has acquired the entire share capital of Geller Business Equipment Limited, the UK's oldest and largest distributor of cash registers and electronic point of sale systems (EPoS) for the retail and hospitality industries.

 

Terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed.

 

Geller will become part of the Consolis group of companies, but will continue to operate under its own trading name of Geller Business Machines. Its customers include the Post Office, Oxfam and Chevron.

 

Geller's managing director, Norman Geller, will continue in his present role. Peter Moore, managing director of Consolis Systems, will become chief executive officer of Geller Business Machines.

 

The acquisition will not affect staffing levels at Geller and all of the company's current employees will be retained.

 

Consolis said the acquisition will enable Geller Business Machines to become a powerful new force in the retail technology market by uniquely combining its 53 years of point of sale hardware experience with the advanced retail management and payment processing software of Consolis subsidiary CES Software.

 

Geller is now expected to put a major emphasis on developing integrated EPoS payment solutions for a new generation of retailers who are switching from stand-alone cash registers to more sophisticated technology-led systems. The new systems will provide vital management information, as well as customer behaviour data and low-cost electronic payment solutions.     

 

Norman Geller, managing director of Geller Business Machines, said:

"We have been working on this great move forward for the company for some time. It marks the next step in the evolution of our business which began with press down key cash registers in 1957, then the first electronic models in the 1970s, and more recently web-based PC cash registers.
